If you’ve not yet heard about BORA, you will do soon. BORA is a German manufacturer of downdraught hob cooktop extractors. A young company, only founded in 2006, but with an ambitious vision – to end the extractor hood. The BORA extraction technique will completely revolutionise kitchen extraction as we know it.
With a built in extractor on the hob plate, cooking odours are drawn away directly from the pan before they reach the airspace around the chef. The BORA system is characterised by a high product efficiency and assures maximum design flexibility, which has revolutionised kitchen use and architecture.
At KSL we have been very impressed by the BORA cooktop extractor as it draws vapours and odours downwards exactly where they arise – right at the cooktop. Effective extraction is critical in combined living spaces which continue to be ever popular. Apart from its superb performance, it offers design benefits such as the clean lines that can be achieved by eliminating wall hung or ceiling extractors altogether. Forget about joist runs and costly dedicated roof vents, and have the BORA extraction system installed in base units instead. Plus it’s noiseless too, no louder than a steak sizzling. Quite amazing.
Look out later this summer when you’ll be able to come and see the BORA system for yourself when we introduce BORA into the KSL showroom. In the meantime, as part of helping the ICE Cook School with the upgrade of their Development Kitchen, we’ll be supplying and installing a BORA induction hob with downdraft extraction so that their GB Masterchefs can enjoy all the benefits that BORA brings.
